Abbott World Majors
According to their website, the Abbott World Marathon Majors is a series consisting of six of the largest and most renowned marathons in the world. The races take place in Tokyo, Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago and New York City. I’d known about the series for a long time but had never really thought too much about completing it, mainly because it involved three separate trips to the USA. I’d run Tokyo in 2014 and had wanted an entry to London because I had in mind taking a holiday there at the same time. I’d missed out on a ballot entry for London for 2017. But again it was that chance encounter on the Marathon Maniacs Facebook page where I became inspired to run in Berlin. That then was 2/6 of the World Majors done and I committed to finishing the series! So at this time this is where things stand with 5/6 now completed:
Completed
New York Marathon – both Craig and I have entries through Travelling Fit for 2019.
There is talk of adding further marathons to the series and I say Bring It On! China is one that’s been floated and while I am excited at the prospect I hope they can do something about their air quality prior to proceeding.
